NH declares health threat

CONCORD, N.H. — Gov. Chris Sununu and the Department of Health and Human Services issued a public health threat declaration for West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis Thursday, after the highest number of mosquito batches in the last five years tested positive for West Nile Virus.

“Based on our surveillance information, we believe there is an increased risk for human illness in the southern part of the state,” Jeffrey A. Meyers, the DHHS Commissioner said in a statement.

A total of 16 batches of mosquitoes have tested positive for the West Nile Virus since the beginning of July >>>
