Title: The Ultimate Call to Combat
Post by: Anonymous Poster on Nov 28, 2016    06:59:25 PM

It amazes me what the human voice can accomplish.  The first sopranos are stunning.

"and why is this the Ultimate Call to Combat, Morgan?"  you may ask....

wellllllll....

Perhaps, WWIII actually started many centuries ago.

"Ha! How is that, Morgan?" you may ask.

Perhaps...WWIII is a world-wide war fought between religious groups.  Perhaps....

The combatants began many, many years ago, when the first human bonked another because they didn’t like the other’s religious/spiritual beliefs… many acts of war, including brutal torture, were perpetrated in the name of this or that religion*(see * note below)... Basically, since the inception of Christianity, especially, along with indigenous peoples’ spirituality, has been the subject of numerous attacks…but about 570, the key players expanded/changed and WWIII became much more widespread.

Historically in the last millennium the warfare has seen much escalation. Muslim Militants began constant attacks on Christians on Crusade. The Templars fought these attacks. Spanish explorers, who came with evangelists, wiped out the culture and peoples of the lands they conquered**.  Etc.

Different sects of the same religion fought against each other and continue to this day. (i.e., Sunni/Shia conflicts and others.)

Looking at recent history, other escalations have occurred; including assassination attempts at Christian religious leaders  For example, one instance is when the first attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II took place on Wednesday, 13 May 1981, in St. Peter's Square at Vatican City. The Pope was shot and wounded by Mehmet Ali Ağca while he was entering the square. The truth behind whomever hired this assassination remains clouded by various stories, in one, the would-be assassin admitted he was hired by the Ayatollah in Iran.

Islamist Assassination Attempt on Pope Francis was thwarted ...the assassin planned to set off a bomb near the papal convoy in Manila on January 18, 2015.

In 2015, a teenager’s ISIS-inspired plot to attack Pope Francis during his U.S. visit was thwarted.

In the last few decades many countries have experienced escalations in this world-wide religious war, which is now called The War on Terror. It is the intention of some religious groups that they become the only religion on the planet and to obtain it through the violent destruction of peoples of differing faiths.

Perhaps, this War on Terror is the latest escalation in the long-running religious war which will in the future be known as WWIII.  (Perhaps, many will then know that WWIII has been raging for millennia.) The escalations that will occur will result in the formation of large non-Muslim Christian-oriented armies, although, one could easily argue that the armies currently fighting the Islamic escalations are, for the most part already non-Muslim.

The escalations of WWIII are increasing and spreading throughout the globe. Perhaps, most of the peoples of this world will be involved in actual combat soon.

In the 1967, American composer, Samuel Barber, set the Latin words of the liturgical Agnus Dei, a part of the Mass to his Adagio for Strings.  It is a beautiful piece of choral arrangement.

Some think it will become the battle cry to call to arms those who will fight the battles that will finally end WWIII and institute a thousand years of peace after which the Ultimate Battle will occur bringing about true paradise.

Perhaps.....

Just sayin

*I could explain this more, but I think most people are aware of the religious wars throughout the planet since creation. Wars are fought for power, land, treasure and religion... and usually religion is/was inserted into every war in some way.

**These are just a few examples of the many peoples who suffered in religious warfare.

"For our struggle is not
against flesh and blood,

but against the rulers,
against the powers,

against the world forces
of this darkness,

against the spiritual forces
of wickedness in the
heavenly places."

Like it or not, you are at war.

No matter who you are—
and whether or not you know it—
you have a mortal enemy who wants
to destroy you, not just in this life,
but in the next.
The first rule of any type of warfare
is to
know your enemy.
How can you avoid being a casualty
in a battle going on all around you if you
don’t even recognize that you’re in danger?
(https://ci5.googleusercontent.com/proxy/svE13B9uUdYKQFQBaqG52k4GYiNWBN6un7KLF8VKVa9u0t1OVGSY65pCmGITiXg--rqVh6Is3t5At0Wp6_IGLnU6LUTjJJ8mCvZyQ0Mv5wgfb8Sk=s0-d-e1-ft#http://email.catholiccompany.com/img/cc/SpiritualWarfare_1.jpg) (http://enews.catholiccompany.com/q/bw_qBiKyhc2suvMw0uE8vSpqk9qVbfFX8VcrmL_8HI0MMcyQPvrwTWsiBKZcOJZGFzaHBvaW50Y295b3RlCQGdtYWlsLmNvbcOI)

Your adversary is the devil, with his
army of demons. The struggle rages not
only all around you, but also within
you, a fierce conflict for control of:

your mind,
your heart...
...your ultimate
destiny.
Today, belief in Satan’s existence
and activity is often dismissed
as old superstition.
Most Catholics hear very little about him,
leaving them unprepared to defeat him.
They need to know their Enemy
and his strategies.

Spiritual combat has
never been so important.

The second rule of warfare is to

know how to use the tools in your arsenal.
As Catholics, we have all the angels
and saints in heaven, and Holy Mother Church
on earth, as our defense against the devil and his wiles.
“But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen
you and guard you from the evil one.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3
The lives of the saints, the powerful prayers
they wrote, the sacraments, sacramentals,
the Word of God, the Holy Spirit . . .
Jesus has given you all the weapons you need to
win the fight.
You just need to know
how to use them effectively.

“Put on the whole armor of God, so that you
may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Ephesians
6:11

Do you remember the commercial for the church in the 90"s.

It ended with . " We don't have all the answers ".

I can remember thinking - That's the problem -  You're supposed to have all the answers !

Last Fall I was picking up my RXs and I saw a friend of my folks in the pharmacy.  She's about 82.  She always says if there is anything I can do for you, please just tell me.  I found myself asking if she still goes to 5 pm Mass? And she said yes and said she would give me a ride if I wanted to attend. She called a couple of Saturday afternoons, but I was working trying to save my deck from the damage done (I explained it at CBA) and I missed her calls.

She kept calling and the third time, I picked up the phone and said I wanted to go with her.  I don't really know why. I attended the funeral masses for my folks, but I haven't gone otherwise for decades.  I still do my daily meditations and my basic outlook is very yogic based...and will always be.

I was surprised at the changes in Mass.  I almost wrote that I was shocked.  Maybe I was a bit shocked.  When I was young and attended with my family regularly, it was basically beat into us kids that we were not to ever touch the host and if we ever saw one on the ground or something to not touch it but to get a priest.

Now, they have lay people distribute communion and they place it in your hand.  I just can't do that. I  only get in the line where the priest distributes communion and I do it 'the old fashion way'... stick out one's tongue and the priest places the host on my tongue. I am the ONLY one who does this.
And there are lay people who offer one a drink of wine.  I never take this.  Still 'old fashioned' I guess.

Gone is Latin. Many of the people's responses are now sung, which I think is basically cool. There is a lot of singing. And twice there is hand-shaking and wishing each other peace.

The tabernacle is off to the side in a little cage alcove.  People bring up the hosts and wine to the altar. There is only one 'altar boy', all the rest are girls, a couple are grown women.

The current priest is Father Jean-Pierre from French Congo. He loves to belt out songs.  I like that.  He faces the people throughout the whole Mass.

Indeed, changes.  A part of me says, if things were right before why are they being changed?  The other part of me says this is the way the Church is evolving to include people, make them an actual part of the ritual of Mass.

I got great feelings of peace this holiday season.  Most importantly from my traditional 5-6 hour long meditation during December.  Also from the way I saw Fr. Jean-Pierre stress the importance of Jesus.
I feel like maybe there is a greater emphasis on Jesus now.  Maybe it is because of Jean-Pierre... I don't know... maybe it was always there, hidden in the old way the Mass ritual was carried out, hidden behind the Latin and always seeing the backside of the priest.

I seem to only get out of the house for doc appointments and once a month, my sister takes me to pick up RXs and groceries.  (On many weeks, going to Mass is my only contact with other human beings.) If I need something in between, I place a delivery order maybe once every other month or so, which is an expensive way to get groceries.  I keep thinking I should replace my freezer, but somewhere inside me I feel a temporariness.  Last summer and autumn, I bagged and boxed up everything in my house that I do not absolutely need and gave it all away.  I've kept photos and a few things I know my son will want when I pass/or things I would take with me if I left here.

At night, I am aware of myself praying in my sleep, even saying the rosary.  My niece gave me a Miraculous Medal years ago and I came across it this summer and started wearing it.

Still, lying deep inside me, deep in my consciousness is the notion of 'temporariness'.  Slowly it is getting stronger.  I don't know why it is there.  I just let it be.

darkness seems to be more patient and at the same time more persistent. It doesn't have to do any work it just fills the void whenever light is absent. light on the other hand takes energy.  the battle between evil and good works the same way. evil will fill the void when ever goodness drops it's guard and isn't consciously expending it's energy.

OMG

This just astounds me....

There are those who have already started back up this war I write of in OPs...

Quote
Leftists on social media tore into First Lady Melania Trump, mocking her accent and religion and branding her everything from a hostage to a whore – all for the secular offense of reciting “The Lord’s Prayer.”

Melania Trump began President Trump’s rally Saturday in Florida by delivering the prayer, which Christians – many of whom recite the prayer in church each week – believe was first said by Jesus Christ. The crowd at Orlando-Melbourne Airport received the prayer enthusiastically.

Left-leaning social media users were a different story, however.

The Christian soldier is not a peace-nick. The Chrisitian soldier walks with out fear. The christian soldier turns the other cheek, not out of weakness but out of strength
. by turning the other cheek the christian is looking evili in the eyes and saying. You can not harm me. I do not fear you. go ahead persist in an act of evil one more time i dare you.  the full power of righteousness eradicates all evil.

There is a war coming - evil has taken hold much too deep in the world. The only way to get rid of it is to confront it. To allow it is to fall victim to it.

It's the anniversary
of the day government tried to snuff out a social movement by forcing it's leader to carry a large piece of wood through the streets  in a show of humiliation then later nailing him to the same piece of wood on a hill in failed attempt to instill fear in all his followers.

Turn the other cheek.

The next  revolution will come unannounced.
