i thought it was just my pc

maybe there's a lot of traffic in your area

my internet connection slows down alot after the kids get home from school, after dinnertime, holidays, weekends-- with cable the more people in your area who are online, the slower it gets...cable internet's dirty little secret

It's nearly midnight here.

It's been this way off and on for about 2-3 days now.
