Coronavirus: Comparing America’s bungling fiasco with Taiwan’s stunning success

The American government’s response to COVID-19 is tragically incompetent. At this point it can be rated as just slightly better than the Islamic Republic of Iran’s. But it hurts even more when one compares it with that of Taiwan —an island nation of 23 million, which the US often views as a client state. Due to its geographical and cultural proximity to China, experts had predicted that Taiwan would end up with the world’s second-largest number of COVID-19 cases. As of today, it has just 45 cases with one death, event though it has tested more people than all of the nations of the Americas combined. How did the Taiwanese manage that?
