Authoritarianism's unlikeliest ally: The vociferous rise of the violent left

Antifa's activists say they're battling burgeoning authoritarianism on the American right. Are they fueling it instead?

Since 1907, Portland, Oregon, has hosted an annual Rose Festival. Since 2007, the festival had included a parade down 82nd Avenue. Since 2013, the Republican Party of Multnomah County, which includes Portland, had taken part. This April, all of that changed.

In the days leading up to the planned parade, a group called the Direct Action Alliance declared, "Fascists plan to march through the streets," and warned, "Nazis will not march through Portland unopposed." The alliance said it didn't object to the Multnomah GOP itself, but to "fascists" who planned to infiltrate its ranks. Yet it also denounced marchers with "Trump flags" and "red maga hats" who could "normalize support for an orange man who bragged about sexually harassing women and who is waging a war of hate, racism and prejudice." A second group, Oregon Students Empowered, created a Facebook page called "Shut down fascism! No nazis in Portland!"

Next, the parade's organizers received an anonymous email warning that if "Trump supporters" and others who promote "hateful rhetoric" marched, "we will have two hundred or more people rush into the parade ... and drag and push those people out." When Portland police said they lacked the resources to provide adequate security, the organizers canceled the parade. It was a sign of things to come.

Trump shuts down two corporate advisory bodies after 11 CEOs resign

US President Donald Trump announced he is terminating the Manufacturing Council and the Strategy & Policy Forum after several CEOs resigned, citing Trump's comments about the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia at the weekend.

President Trump made the announcement on his Twitter account on Wednesday. The decision follows the resignation of 11 CEOs, including AFL-CIO president Richard Trumpka, Under Armour's Kevin Plank, and Intel's Brian Krzanich.

The flurry of resignations began Monday after Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier announced he had quit the council, stating: "America's leaders must honor our fundamental values by clearly rejecting expressions of hatred, bigotry and group supremacy."

Democrats join the insane call to remove Confederate statues

The left is continuing their push to erase all Confederate monuments.

Just like ISIS, liberals are running from town to town, tearing down our Confederate statues, in the name of progressiveness and political correctness.

It's one of the most disgusting and disturbing things I have witnessed from the left.

Confederate statues today...

What will it be tomorrow?

Books, movies, classic music?

Where does the left-wing purge of all "offensive" culture end?

Pence asks Latin American countries to 'break all ties with N. Korea'

US Vice President Mike Pence has asked Chile, Peru, Mexico and Brazil to break diplomatic and other ties with North Korea, as part of a campaign to pressure Pyongyang into giving up missiles and nuclear weapons.

"It's imperative that the regime in Pyongyang understand that all options are on the table," Pence said on Wednesday in Santiago, in a joint press conference with Chilean president Michelle Bachelet.

"Our hope is that Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Peru will join us in breaking all ties with North Korea," he said.

Latin American countries severing diplomatic ties with North Korea will "facilitate a peaceful outcome" and show Pyongyang that "there is a cost" for defying the will of the international community, Pence said.

Cop will serve 3 years for shooting cooperative man during traffic stop

Levar Edward Jones was shot by a state trooper in early September of 2014. Now, nearly three years after the cowardly and deadly actions by this trooper, he is finally being held accountable, and Jones is seeing the justice he deserves.

On Tuesday, former South Carolina State Trooper, Sean Groubert was sentenced to 12 years in prison. However, while that may seem substantial, 5 of them were suspended for time served, and Groubert will only spend 3 years behind bars for nearly killing an innocent man who was doing everything he was supposed to do during a traffic stop.

The incident, which the Free Thought Project reported upon initially after it took place on September 4, 2014, began when trooper Sean Groubert pulled Jones over for allegedly not wearing a seat belt.

Dash cam from the trooper's cruiser recorded the interaction.

Two sides of the same coin: Alt-right white supremacists and Antifa thugs deserve each other

I have already made known my feelings about the white supremacists who gathered in Charlottesville.

Their idiocy is overshadowed only by their moral depravity. The one thing they lack more than jobs and girlfriends is a semi-coherent understanding of history. How many of these neo-Nazi punks even realize that Hitler would have marched them to the gas chambers right alongside the black and Jewish Americans they despise? How many of them had grandfathers and great grandfathers who stormed the beaches to defeat the very movement they now wish to resurrect? Part of me hopes their grandfathers are dead so they don't have to witness what's become of their families. Part of me hopes they're alive so they can take their canes and swat these brats across the head. I don't condone violence, unless it's a WWII vet delivering a grandfatherly whooping to his vile, ungrateful Nazi grandson.

It would be very difficult to go too far in criticizing the sorts of "men" who rallied this weekend. I am forced to put the word "men" in quotes because they are only men in the most literal sense. In any other sense, they are cowardly, pathetic little boys desperate for attention. I am not interested in hearing, as I have heard from some people, that these imbeciles were "driven" to this point because of all the racism and hatred on the Left. There is racism and hatred on the Left - a lot of it, and we'll get to that in a second - but that does not even begin to excuse them.

The FBI won't charge its paid informants who participated in Charlottesville violence

FBI insiders said it is unlikely leaders of the radical groups that clashed in demonstrations turned deadly in Charlottesville, VA will face prosecution.

Why?

FBI said they have already identified several federal informants who participated in the mob-like riots over the weekend in Virginia. The FBI is also now working those sources to piece together the events from Charlottesville, sources said.

But FBI agents have deemed the newly-minted investigation dicey, having to navigate separate agreements with embedded intelligence assets while trying to pinpoint responsibility for the violence.

Late Saturday, the Justice Department announced the federal probe. The investigation, spearheaded by the Richmond, VA FBI field office, was launched after an Ohio man drove his car through a crowd of demonstrators killing one woman and injuring dozens.

The FBI has Intel assets implanted in several white supremacy sects, as well as the radical ANTIFA group, according to federal law enforcement sources who spoke to True Pundit.

White nationalists planning rally in Lexington, Kentucky to oppose removal of two Confederate statues

White nationalists are planning a rally in Lexington to oppose the planned removal of two Confederate statues from the lawn of the former Fayette County Courthouse, and they're considering a lawsuit aimed at blocking the move, a leader in the movement said Tuesday.

Matthew Heimbach, chairman of the Traditionalist Worker Party, said his group and others allied under the umbrella of the Nationalist Front are discussing plans for the rally.

Heimbach said people in the Lexington area asked his group get involved. The group has members in Kentucky and plans to try to recruit more, he said.

No date has been chosen, but the goal is to have the event "sooner rather than later," Heimbach said.
