Despite this, the Department of Health (DoH) is ramping up preparations to prevent the bird flu's spread among humans, especially as new studies show the virus is becoming deadlier.

The patients have been isolated at the Jose B. Lingad Medical Center in Pampanga while awaiting test results, she said.

This after the Department of Agriculture (DA) reported that based on test results, the avian flu strain AH5N6 can be transmitted to humans.

They exhibited the tell-tale symptoms of contracting fever, having upper respiratory infection (colds and coughing), pain in joints, general malaise, and experiencing diarrhea.

An assessment of suspect cases were done and specimen were collected for laboratory diagnosis.
